Coloured Shards

from Binaural Works by Gazebo‽

/

about

John Cage compared silence in music to the transparent elements in the glass houses by Mies van der Rohe. Silence enables the accentuation of the surrounding sonorities in a similar fashion as to how “the glass houses of Mies van der Rohe reflect their environment, presenting to the eye images of clouds, trees, or grass, according to the situation.” In the spirit of this analogy I will only say that I view Coloured Shards as a smudge on these windows, a small alteration of the environment.
